حَدَّثَنَا أَحْمَدُ بْنُ خُلَيْدٍ الْحَلَبِيُّ، ثنا أَبُو تَوْبَةَ الرَّبِيعُ بْنُ نَافِعٍ، ثنا يَزِيدُ بْنُ رَبِيعَةَ، عَنْ يَزِيدَ بْنِ أَبِي مَالِكٍ، عَنْ أَبِي الْأَزْهَرِ، عَنْ وَاثِلَةَ بْنِ الْأَسْقَعِ قَالَ: خَرَجْتُ أَنَا أُرِيدُ، عَلِيًّا فَقِيلَ لِي: هُوَ عِنْدَ رَسُولِ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ، فَأَمَمْتُ إِلَيْهِ فَأَجِدُهُمْ فِي حَظِيرَةٍ مِنْ قَصَبٍ وَرَسُولُ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ وَعَلِيٌّ وَفَاطِمَةُ وَحَسَنٌ وَحُسَيْنٌ قَدْ جَمَعَهُمْ تَحْتَ ثَوْبٍ فَقَالَ: «اللهُمَّ إِنَّكَ جَعَلْتَ صَلَوَاتِكَ وَرَحْمَتَكَ وَمَغْفِرَتَكَ ورِضْوَانَكَ عَلَيَّ وَعَلَيْهِمْ»
Sayyiduna Wathilah bin al-Asqa' (may Allah be pleased with him) said: I went out intending to see Sayyiduna Ali (may Allah be pleased with him), and I was told that he was with the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him). So I went towards him and found them in an enclosure of reeds, and the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) had gathered Ali, Fatimah, Hasan and Husayn (may Allah be pleased with them) under a cloth. Then he said: "O Allah, You have placed Your salawat (favours), Your mercy, Your forgiveness and Your good pleasure upon me and upon them."
