حَدَّثَنَا عُبَيْدٌ الْعِجْلُ، ومُحَمَّدُ بْنُ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ عُقْبَةَ الشَّيْبَانِيُّ قَالَا ثنا الْحَسَنُ بْنُ عَلِيٍّ الْحُلْوَانِيُّ، ثنا يَزِيدُ بْنُ هَارُونَ، ح وَحَدَّثَنَا أَحْمَدُ بْنُ زُهَيْرٍ التُّسْتَرِيُّ، ثنا ابْنُ كَرَامَةَ، ثنا عُبَيْدُ اللهِ بْنُ مُوسَى كِلَاهُمَا عَنْ عَنْبَسَةَ بْنِ سَعِيدٍ، عَنْ حَمَّادٍ، مَوْلَى بَنِي أُمَيَّةَ، عَنْ جُنَاحٍ، مَوْلَى الْوَلِيدِ، عَنْ وَاثِلَةَ قَالَ: قَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ: «الْإِمَامُ ضَامِنٌ، وَالْمُؤَذِّنُ مُؤْتَمَنٌ، اللهُمَّ اغْفِرْ لِلْمُؤَذِّنِينَ وَاهْدِ الْأَئِمَّةَ»
It is narrated from Sayyiduna Wathilah bin al-Asqa' (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "The imam is a guarantor and the mu'adhdhin is entrusted. O Allah, forgive the mu'adhdhins and guide the imams."
