حَدَّثَنَا الْمِقْدَامُ بْنُ دَاوُدَ، ثنا أَسَدُ بْنُ مُوسَى، ثنا سُفْيَانُ بْنُ عُيَيْنَةَ، عَنْ مِسْعَرٍ، عَنْ عَبْدِ الْجَبَّارِ بْنِ وَائِلٍ، عَنْ بَعْضِ أَهْلِهِ عَنْ أَبِيهِ، أَنَّهُ «رَأَى النَّبِيَّ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ أُتِيَ بِدَلْوٍ فَتَوَضَّأَ مِنْهُ فَمَضْمَضَ، ثُمَّ مَجَّ فِيهِ الْمِسْكَ، أَوْ أَطْيَبَ مِنَ الْمِسْكِ، وَاسْتَنْثَرَ خَارِجَهُ»
Abd al-Jabbar, the son of Sayyiduna Wa'il (may Allah be pleased with him), narrates through some of his family from his father that he saw a bucket brought to the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him). He performed ablution from it, rinsed his mouth, then spat into it musk, or something more fragrant than musk, and blew his nose outside it.
