Sayyiduna Wa'il bin Hujr (may Allah be pleased with him) said: The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) sent a man to (collect) the charity (sadaqah), and he brought back an emaciated, wretched, scrawny young camel and said: This is from the charity of so-and-so, son of so-and-so, of such-and-such a tribe. So the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) ascended the pulpit, praised and extolled Allah, then said: "I sent my envoy to collect the charity. He reached so-and-so, and the supplication of the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) reached him (about this) - he was coming with a fat, well-fed she-camel - until he reached so-and-so, son of so-and-so, of such-and-such a tribe, who gave this scrawny young camel. May Allah not bless his camels." Then this word reached the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him), and the man came dragging it along, and the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) ascended the pulpit, praised and extolled Allah, then said: "So-and-so, son of so-and-so, of such-and-such a tribe, received news of the supplication of the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him), so he brought this fat, well-fed she-camel. May Allah bless him and his camels."
