حَدَّثَنَا مُعَاذُ بْنُ الْمُثَنَّى، ثنا مُسَدَّدٌ، ح وَحَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ اللهِ بْنُ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ سَعِيدِ بْنِ أَبِي مَرْيَمَ، ثنا ابْنُ بَشَّارٍ، ثنا عَمْرُو بْنُ عَوْنٍ، قَالَا: ثنا أَبُو الْأَحْوَصِ، عَنْ أَشْعَثَ بْنِ أَبِي الشَّعْثَاءِ، عَنِ الْأَسْوَدِ بْنِ هِلَالٍ، عَنِ الْمُغِيرَةِ بْنِ شُعْبَةَ قَالَ: بَيْنَمَا أَنَا مَعَ رَسُولِ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ ذَاتَ لَيْلَةٍ، «إِذْ نَزَلَ رَسُولُ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ فَقَضَى حَاجَتَهُ، ثُمَّ جَاءَ فَصَبَبْتُ عَلَيْهِ الْمَاءَ مِنْ إِدَوَاةٍ كَانَتْ مَعِي، فَتَوَضَّأَ وَمَسَحَ عَلَى خُفَّيْهِ»
Sayyiduna al-Mughirah bin Shu'bah (may Allah be pleased with him) said: One night I was with the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him). He (peace and blessings be upon him) dismounted and relieved himself, then he came back, and I poured water for him (peace and blessings be upon him) from a vessel I had with me. He (peace and blessings be upon him) performed ablution and wiped over his leather socks.
