حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ اللهِ بْنُ أَحْمَدَ بْنِ حَنْبَلٍ، حَدَّثَنِي أَبِي، ثنا إِسْحَاقُ الْأَزْرَقُ، عَنْ شَرِيكٍ، عَنْ بَيَانٍ، عَنْ قَيْسِ بْنِ أَبِي حَازِمٍ، عَنِ الْمُغِيرَةِ بْنِ شُعْبَةَ، قَالَ: كُنَّا نُصَلِّي مَعَ نَبِيِّ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ صَلَاةَ الظُّهْرِ بِالْهَاجِرَةِ، فَقَالَ لَنَا رَسُولُ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ: «أَبْرِدُوا بِالصَّلَاةِ، فَإِنَّ شِدَّةَ الْحَرِّ مِنْ فَيْحِ جَهَنَّمَ»
Sayyiduna al-Mughirah bin Shu'bah (may Allah be pleased with him) said: We used to pray the Zuhr prayer with the Prophet of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) in the intense midday heat, so the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said to us: "Wait for the prayer until it becomes cooler (delay it), for the intensity of the heat is from the breath of Hell."
