مهران مولى رسول الله صلى الله عليه وسلم " وقد اختلف في اسمه فقالوا: كيسان أو هرمز، والصواب عندي مهران، لأن الثوري أتقن من رواه "
Mihran (may Allah be pleased with him), freed slave of the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him); his name is disputed, being given as Kaysan or Hurmuz; al-Tabarani said: the correct name in my view is Mihran, because al-Thawri is the most precise of those who narrated it

حَدَّثَنَا إِسْحَاقُ بْنُ إِبْرَاهِيمَ الدَّبَرِيُّ، عَنْ عَبْدِ الرَّزَّاقِ، عَنِ الثَّوْرِيِّ، عَنْ عَطَاءِ بْنِ السَّائِبِ، حَدَّثَتْنِي أُمُّ كُلْثُومِ بِنْتُ عَلِيٍّ، - وَأَتَيْتُهَا بِصَدَقَةٍ كَانَ أَمَرَ بِهَا فَقَالَتْ: احْذَرْ شَبَابَنَا، فَإِنَّ مَيْمُونًا أَوْ مِهْرَانًا مَوْلَى النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ أَخْبَرَنِي أَنَّهُ مَرَّ عَلَى النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ فَقَالَ: «يَا مَيْمُونُ - أَوْ مِهْرَانُ - إِنَّا أَهْلُ بَيْتٍ نُهِينَا عَنِ الصَّدَقَةِ، وَإِنَّ مَوَالِينَا مِنْ أَنْفُسِنَا، فَلَا تَأْكُلِ الصَّدَقَةَ»
It is narrated from Sayyidah Umm Kulthum bint Ali (may Allah be pleased with her) - Ata bin al-Sa'ib (may Allah have mercy on him) said: I had come to her with some charity that had been ordered - and she said: Keep our young men away (from it), for Maymun or Mihran (may Allah be pleased with him), the freed slave of the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him), told me that he passed by the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him), and he (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "O Maymun - or Mihran - taking charity has been made unlawful for us, the Ahl al-Bayt, and our freed slaves are counted among us, so do not eat charity."
