مسعود بن الضحاك اللخمي
Mas'ud bin al-Dahhak al-Lakhmi (may Allah be pleased with him)
Mu'jam Kabir Tabarani 17916 — the Prophet ﷺ named him Muta' and said

حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو مَسْعُودٍ عَبْدُ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنُ الْمُثَنَّى، عَنْ أَبِيهِ مُطَاعٍ، عَنْ أَبِيهِ عِيسَى، عَنْ أَبِيهِ مُطَاعٍ، عَنْ أَبِيهِ زِيَادٍ، عَنْ جَدِّهِ مَسْعُودٍ أَنَّ النَّبِيَّ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ سَمَّاهُ مُطَاعًا وَقَالَ لَهُ: «يَا مُطَاعُ، أَنْتَ مُطَاعٌ فِي قَوْمِكَ» وَقَالَ لَهُ: «امْضِ إِلَى أَصْحَابِكَ» ، وَحَمَلَهُ عَلَى فَرَسٍ أَبْلَقَ، وَأَعْطَاهُ الرَّايَةَ، وَقَالَ: «مَنْ دَخَلَ تَحْتَ رايَتِي هَذِهِ فَقَدْ أَمِنَ مِنَ الْعَذَابِ»
It is narrated from Sayyiduna Mas'ud bin al-Dahhak al-Lakhmi (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) named him Muta' and said: "O Muta'! You are one who is obeyed (muta') among your people." And he said: "Go to your companions." And he mounted him on a piebald horse, gave him the banner, and said: "Whoever comes under this banner of mine is safe from punishment."
