حَدَّثَنَا الْعَبَّاسُ بْنُ حَمْدَانَ الْحَنَفِيُّ، ثنا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ عَبْدِ اللهِ الْمُخَرِّمِيُّ، ثنا حُجَيْنُ بْنُ الْمُثَنَّى، ثنا لَيْثُ بْنُ سَعْدٍ، عَنْ مُوسَى بْنِ عُلَيٍّ، عَنْ أَبِيهِ، عَنِ الْمُسْتَوْرِدِ الْفِهْرِيِّ، أَنَّهُ قَالَ لِعَمْرِو بْنِ الْعَاصِ: «تَقُومُ السَّاعَةُ وَالرُّومُ أَكْثَرُ النَّاسِ» ، قَالَ: انْظُرْ مَا تَقُولُ؟ قَالَ: لَا أَقُولُ إِلَّا مَا سَمِعْتُ مِنْ رَسُولِ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ: «يَذْهَبُ الصَّالِحُونَ أَسْلَافًا، وَتَبْقَى حُثَالَةٌ كَحُثَالَةِ التَّمْرِ وَالشَّعِيرِ، لَا يُبَالِي اللهُ بِهِمْ»
It is narrated from Sayyiduna Mustawrid al-Fihri (may Allah be pleased with him) that he said to Sayyiduna Amr bin al-As (may Allah be pleased with him): "The Hour will be established while the Romans are the most numerous of people." He said: Watch what you are saying! Sayyiduna Mustawrid (may Allah be pleased with him) said: I say only what I heard from the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him): "The righteous will depart first, one after another, and only the dregs will remain, like the dregs of dates and barley; Allah will not care about them at all."
