حَدَّثَنَا إِبْرَاهِيمُ بْنُ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ عِرْقٍ الْحِمْصِيُّ، ثنا عَمْرُو بْنُ عُثْمَانَ، ثنا بَقِيَّةُ بْنُ الْوَلِيدِ، ثنا عُمَرُ بْنُ جُعْثُمٍ، حَدَّثَنِي سُلَيْمُ بْنُ عَامِرٍ، عَنِ الْمِقْدَامِ، أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ قَالَ: «تَدْنُو الشَّمْسُ مِنَ النَّاسِ يَوْمَ الْقِيَامَةِ حَتَّى تَكُونَ مِنَ النَّاسِ عَلَى قَدْرِ مِيلَيْنِ، وَيَزْدَادَ فِي حَرِّهَا فَتَصْحَرَهُمْ فَيَكُونُوا فِي الْعَرَقِ بِقَدْرِ أَعْمَالِهِمْ، فَمِنْهُمْ مَنْ يَأْخُذُهُ الْعَرَقُ إِلَى كَعْبَيْهِ، وَمِنْهُمْ مَنْ يَأْخُذُهُ إِلَى رُكْبَتَيْهِ، وَمِنْهُمْ مَنْ يَأْخُذُهُ إِلَى حِقْوَيْهِ، وَمِنْهُمْ مَنْ يُلْجِمُهُ الْعَرَقُ إِلْجَامًا» قَالَ: وَرَأَيْتُ رَسُولَ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ يُشِيرُ بِيَدَيْهِ إِلَى فِيهِ قَالَ إِبْرَاهِيمُ بْنُ عِرْقٍ: هَكَذَا رَوَاهُ عُمَرُ بْنُ خَثْعَمٍ، عَنْ سُلَيْمٍ، عَنِ الْمِقْدَامِ
It is narrated from Sayyiduna al-Miqdam (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "On the Day of Resurrection the sun will draw near to the people until it is at a distance of two miles from them, and its heat will increase so that it scorches them. They will be immersed in sweat according to their deeds: for some the sweat will reach their ankles, for some their knees, for some their waists, and some will be completely bridled by sweat (that is, it will reach their mouths)." He said: And I saw the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) pointing with both his hands towards his mouth. Ibrahim bin Irq said: Umar bin Khath'am narrated it like this from Sulaym, from al-Miqdam.
