Yahya bin Jabir al-Ta'i from al-Miqdam (may Allah be pleased with him)
Mu'jam Kabir Tabarani 17781 — I heard the Prophet ﷺ say: Seek refuge
حَدَّثَنَا طَالِبُ بْنُ قُرَّةَ الْأَذَنِيُّ، ثنا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ عِيسَى الطَّبَّاعُ، ثنا إِسْمَاعِيلُ بْنُ عَيَّاشٍ، عَنْ سُلَيْمَانَ بْنِ سُلَيْمٍ الْكِنَانِيِّ، عَنْ يَحْيَى بْنِ جَابِرٍ، عَنِ الْمِقْدَامِ بْنِ مَعْدِي كَرِبٍ، قَالَ: سَمِعْتُ النَّبِيَّ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ يَقُولُ: «تَعَوَّذُوا بِاللهِ مِنْ طَمَعٍ يَهْدِي إِلَى طَبْعٍ، وَمِنْ طَمَعٍ يَهْدِي إِلَى غَيْرِ مَطْمَعٍ»
Sayyiduna al-Miqdam bin Ma'di Karib (may Allah be pleased with him) said: I heard the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) say: "Seek refuge with Allah from greed that leads to disgrace, and from greed that leads to something that cannot be attained."
