حَدَّثَنَا أَحْمَدُ بْنُ عَبْدِ الْوَهَّابِ بْنِ نَجْدَةَ الْحَوْطِيُّ، ثنا أَبِي، ثنا إِسْمَاعِيلُ بْنُ عَيَّاشٍ، عَنْ شُرَحْبِيلَ بْنِ مُسْلِمٍ، قَالَ: «رَأَيْتُ خَمْسَةً مِنْ أَصْحَابِ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ» يَقُمُّونَ شَوَارِبَهُمْ، وَيُعْفُونَ لِحَاهُمْ وَيُصَفِّرُونَها، مِنْهُمُ الْمِقْدَامُ بْنُ مَعْدِي كَرِبٍ "
Shurahbil bin Muslim said: "I saw five of the Companions of the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him)" who trimmed their moustaches, let their beards grow and dyed them yellow; among them was Sayyiduna al-Miqdam bin Ma'dikarib (may Allah be pleased with him).
