حَدَّثَنَا أَحْمَدُ بْنُ عَبْدِ الْوَهَّابِ بْنِ نَجْدَةَ الْحَوْطِيُّ، ثنا عَلِيُّ بْنُ عَيَّاشٍ، ثنا الْوَلِيدُ بْنُ كَامِلٍ أَبُو عُبَيْدَةَ الْبَجَلِيُّ، عَنِ الْمُهَلَّبِ بْنِ حُجْرٍ النَّهْرَانِيِّ، عَنْ ضُبَاعَةَ بِنْتِ الْمِقْدَادِ بْنِ الْأَسْوَدِ، عَنْ أَبِيهَا قَالَ: «مَا رَأَيْتُ رَسُولَ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ» يُصَلِّي إِلَى عَمُودٍ، وَلَا عُودٍ، وَلَا شَجَرَةٍ إِلَّا وَهُوَ يَجْعَلَهُ عَلَى حَاجِبِهِ الْأَيْمَنِ، وَحَاجِبِهِ الْأَيْسَرِ، وَلَا يَصْمُدُ إِلَيْهِ صَمَدًا "
Sayyidah Duba'ah bint al-Miqdad bin al-Aswad (may Allah be pleased with her) narrates from her father that he said: "I never saw the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) pray towards a pillar, a piece of wood or a tree except that he (peace and blessings be upon him) would place it in line with his right or left eyebrow, and he would not stand directly facing it."
