Mu'jam Kabir Tabarani 17665 — I was holding up the branches
حَدَّثَنَا إِبْرَاهِيمُ بْنُ نَائِلَةَ الْأَصْبَهَانِيُّ، ثنا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ أَبِي بَكْرٍ الْمُقَدَّمِيُّ، ح وَحَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ إِسْحَاقَ بْنِ رَاهَوَيْهِ، ثنا أَبِي، قَالَا: ثنا عَبْدُ الْوَهَّابِ الثَّقَفِيُّ، ثنا خَالِدٌ الْحَذَّاءُ، عَنِ الْحَكَمِ بْنِ عَبْدِ اللهِ، عَنْ مَعْقِلِ بْنِ يَسَارٍ قَالَ: «كُنْتُ رَافِعًا أَغْصَانَ الشَّجَرَةِ عَلَى رَسُولِ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ،» فَبَايَعَ النَّاسُ عَلَى أَنْ لَا يَفِرُّوا " وَهُمْ يَوْمَئِذٍ أَلْفٌ وَأَرْبَعُمِائَةٍ
Sayyiduna Ma'qil bin Yasar (may Allah be pleased with him) said: "I was holding up the branches of the tree above the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him)," and the people pledged that they would not flee, and on that day they were one thousand four hundred.
