Mu'jam Kabir Tabarani 17562 — the Messenger of Allah ﷺ said: Shall I

حَدَّثَنَا الْمِقْدَامُ بْنُ دَاوُدَ، ثنا أَسَدُ بْنُ مُوسَى، ثنا ابْنُ لَهِيعَةَ، عَنْ زَبَّانَ بْنِ فَايِدٍ، عَنْ سَهْلِ بْنِ مُعَاذِ بْنِ أَنَسٍ، عَنْ أَبِيهِ، عَنْ رَسُولِ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ قَالَ: " أَلَا أُخْبِرُكُمْ لِمَ سَمَّى اللهُ إِبْرَاهِيمَ خَلِيلَهُ الَّذِي وَفَّى؟ لِأَنَّهُ كَانَ يَقُولُ كُلَّمَا أَصْبَحَ أَوْ أَمْسَى: {سُبْحَانَ اللهِ حِينَ تُمْسُونَ وَحِينَ تُصْبِحُونَ} " حَتَّى خَتَمَ الْآيَةَ
It is narrated from Sayyiduna Mu'adh bin Anas al-Juhani (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Shall I not tell you why Allah Almighty made Ibrahim (peace be upon him) His faithful Khalil (intimate friend)? Because whenever he reached the morning or the evening, he would recite: 'So glorify Allah when you reach the evening and when you reach the morning' - until he completed the verse."
