حَدَّثَنَا الْمِقْدَامُ بْنُ دَاوُدَ، ثنا أَسَدُ بْنُ مُوسَى، ثنا ابْنُ لَهِيعَةَ، عَنْ زَبَّانَ بْنِ فَايِدٍ، عَنْ سَهْلِ بْنِ مُعَاذٍ، عَنْ أَبِيهِ، عَنْ رَسُولِ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ أَنَّهُ قَالَ: «مَنْ كَظَمَ غَيْظًا وَهُوَ يَقْدِرُ عَلَى أَنْ يُنْفِذَهُ دَعَاهُ اللهُ عَلَى رُءُوسِ الْخَلَائِقِ حَتَّى يُخَيَّرَ مِنْ حُورِ الْعَيْنِ أَيَّتُهُنَّ شَاءَ، وَمَنْ تَرَكَ أَنْ يَلْبَسَ صَالِحَ الثِّيَابِ وَهُوَ يَقْدِرُ عَلَيْهَا تَوَاضُعًا لِلَّهِ عَزَّ وَجَلَّ دَعَاهُ اللهُ عَلَى رُءُوسِ الْخَلَائِقِ حَتَّى يُخَيِّرَهُ اللهُ فِي حُلَلِ الْإِيمَانِ أَيَّتُهُنَّ شَاءَ»
It is narrated from Sayyiduna Mu'adh bin Anas al-Juhani (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Whoever suppresses his anger while he has the power to act upon it, Allah Almighty will call him before all of creation, until He gives him the choice of whichever of the wide-eyed houris (hur al-'in) he wishes. And whoever, out of humility for Allah, the Mighty and Majestic, gives up wearing fine clothing while being able to afford it, Allah Almighty will call him before all of creation, until Allah Almighty gives him the choice of whichever of the garments of faith he wishes."
