حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ عَبْدِ اللهِ الْحَضْرَمِيُّ، ثنا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ عَبْدِ اللهِ بْنِ نُمَيْرٍ، ثنا يُونُسُ بْنُ بُكَيْرٍ، قَالَ: قَالَ ابْنُ إِسْحَاقَ: «فَلَمَّا أَرَادَ اللهُ عَزَّ وَجَلَّ إِظْهَارَ دِينِهِ وإِعزازَ نَبِيِّهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ، وإِنجازَ وَعْدِهِ خَرَجَ رَسُولُ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ، فِي الْمَوْسِمِ الَّذِي لَقِيَهُ فِيهِ النَّفْرُ مِنَ الْأَنْصَارِ، وَهُمْ فِيمَا يَزْعُمُونَ سِتَّةٌ فِيهِمْ جَابِرُ بْنُ عَبْدِ اللهِ بْنِ رِيَابٍ»
Muhammad bin Abdullah bin Numayr narrates that Ibn Ishaq said: "When Allah, the Mighty and Majestic, willed to make His religion prevail, to honour His Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) and to fulfil His promise, the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) went out in the season in which a group of the Ansar met him (peace and blessings be upon him). They were, as people claim, six men, among them Jabir bin Abdullah bin Riyab."
