حَدَّثَنَا الْحُسَيْنُ بْنُ إِسْحَاقَ التُّسْتَرِيُّ، ثنا عَبْدُ اللهِ بْنُ عُمَرَ بْنِ أَبَانَ، ثنا حُسَيْنُ بْنُ عَلِيٍّ الْجُعْفِيُّ، عَنْ زَائِدَةَ، عَنْ أَبِي حُصَيْنٍ، عَنْ سَالِمِ بْنِ أَبِي الْجَعْدِ، عَنْ مُعَاذٍ قَالَ: قَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ: «مَنْ شَابَ شَيْبَةً فِي الْإِسْلَامِ كَانَتْ لَهُ نُورًا يَوْمَ الْقِيَامَةِ، وَمَنْ رَمَى بِسَهْمٍ فِي سَبِيلِ اللهِ رُفِعَ لَهُ بِهِ دَرَجَةً»
Salim bin Abi al-Ja'd (may Allah have mercy on him) narrates from Sayyiduna Mu'adh (may Allah be pleased with him) that he said that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Whoever grows a single grey hair in Islam, it will be a light for him on the Day of Resurrection; and whoever shoots an arrow in the path of Allah, he will be raised a rank by it."
