حَدَّثَنَا إِسْحَاقُ بْنُ إِبْرَاهِيمَ الدَّبَرِيُّ، عَنْ عَبْدِ الرَّزَّاقِ، عَنْ مَعْمَرٍ، عَنْ أَبِي إِسْحَاقَ عَنْ عَمْرِو بْنِ مَيْمُونٍ، عَنْ مُعَاذِ بْنِ جَبَلٍ قَالَ: كُنْتُ رِدْفَ رَسُولِ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ فَقَالَ: «هَلْ تَدْرِي يَا مُعَاذُ مَا حَقُّ اللهِ عَلَى النَّاسِ؟» قُلْتُ: اللهُ وَرَسُولُهُ أَعْلَمُ، قَالَ: «حَقُّهُ عَلَيْهِمْ أَنْ يَعْبُدُوهُ، وَلَا يُشْرِكُوا بِهِ شَيْئًا، تَدْرِي يَا مُعَاذُ مَا حَقُّ النَّاسِ عَلَى اللهِ إِذَا فَعَلُوا ذَلِكَ؟ أَنْ لَا يُعَذِّبَهُمْ» قُلْتُ: يَا رَسُولَ اللهِ، أَلَا أُبَشِّرُ النَّاسَ؟ قَالَ: «دَعْهُمْ يَعْمَلُونَ»
Amr bin Maymun (may Allah have mercy on him) narrates from Sayyiduna Mu'adh bin Jabal (may Allah be pleased with him); he said: I was riding behind the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him), and he (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "O Mu'adh! Do you know what the right of Allah upon the people is?" I said: Allah and His Messenger know best. He (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "His right upon them is that they worship Him and do not associate anything with Him. O Mu'adh! Do you know what the right of the people upon Allah is if they do that? That He does not punish them." I said: O Messenger of Allah! Shall I not give the people the glad tidings? He (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Leave them, let them keep doing deeds."
