حَدَّثَنَا الْحُسَيْنُ بْنُ إِسْحَاقَ التُّسْتَرِيُّ، ثنا عَلِيُّ بْنُ بَحْرٍ، ثنا قَتَادَةُ بْنُ الْفَضْلِ بْنِ قَتَادَةَ الرَّهَاوِيُّ، قَالَ: سَمِعْتُ ثَوْرَ بْنَ يَزِيدَ، عَنْ خَالِدِ بْنِ مَعْدَانَ، عَنْ مُعَاذِ بْنِ جَبَلٍ، عَنْ رَسُولِ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ قَالَ: «أَتَدْرُونَ مَا يَقُولُ اللهُ لِلْمُؤْمِنِينَ يَوْمَ الْقِيَامَةِ، وَأَوَّلَ مَا يَقُولُونَ؟» قَالُوا: اللهُ وَرَسُولُهُ أَعْلَمُ، قَالَ: " يَقُولُ لِلْمُؤْمِنِينَ يَوْمَ الْقِيَامَةِ: مَا أَحْبَبْتُمْ لِقَائِي؟ قَالُوا: نَعَمْ يَا رَبُّ، رَجَوْنَا عَفْوَكَ وَمَغْفِرَتَكَ، قَالَ: فَقَدْ أَوْجَبْتُ لَكُمْ عَفْوي ومَغْفِرَتِي "
Sayyiduna Mu'adh bin Jabal (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates from the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) that he (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Do you know what Allah will say to the believers on the Day of Resurrection, and what they will say first?" The Companions said: Allah and His Messenger know best. He (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "He will say to the believers on the Day of Resurrection: Did you love meeting Me? They will say: Yes, O Lord! We hoped for Your pardon and Your forgiveness. He will say: Then I have made My pardon and My forgiveness binding for you."
