Mu'jam Kabir Tabarani 17257 — from the Messenger of Allah ﷺ that he

Sayyiduna Mu'adh bin Jabal (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates from the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) that he said: "Whoever seeks knowledge in order to show off with it before the scholars, or to argue with it with fools in gatherings, will not even smell the fragrance of Paradise."
