It is narrated from Sayyiduna al-Miswar bin Makhramah (may Allah be pleased with him) that Hasan bin Hasan (may Allah have mercy on him) sent word to him asking for the hand of one of his daughters. He said: Tell him to meet me at such-and-such a time, which he specified. So he met him, and Sayyiduna al-Miswar (may Allah be pleased with him) praised Allah and said: No tie, lineage or relationship by marriage is dearer to me than your lineage and your relationship by marriage. But the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Fatimah is a branch joined to me; what pleases her pleases me, and what grieves her grieves me. And on the Day of Resurrection all lineages and ties will be cut off except my lineage and my tie" - and you have her (Sayyidah Fatimah's, may Allah be pleased with her) daughter married to you; if I were to marry (my daughter) to you, that would grieve her. So Hasan bin Hasan went away, accepting his excuse.
