One of two brothers from Banu al-Mughirah swore an oath by the freeing of a slave against his other brother that he would not let him place a beam of wood in his wall. The two of them then met Sayyiduna Mujammi' bin Yazid (may Allah be pleased with him) and some men of the Ansar, and they said: We bear witness that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "No neighbour should prevent his neighbour from placing a beam of wood in his wall." At this the brother said: O my brother! I have come to know that this ruling is in your favour and against me, so why did you make pillars apart from my wall? So he made pillars. Amr said: And I saw those pillars.
