Mu'jam Kabir Tabarani 1706 — Sayyiduna Jundub said: A tree struck

Al-Aswad bin Qays narrates that Sayyiduna Jundub (may Allah be pleased with him) said: A tree struck the finger of the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) and it bled. He (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "You are but a finger that has bled, and what you have met with is in the path of Allah." Then he (peace and blessings be upon him) was carried and laid upon a bed woven with palm leaves or cords, and a leather pillow stuffed with palm fibre was placed under his (peace and blessings be upon him) head. The weave left marks on his (peace and blessings be upon him) side. Then Umar bin al-Khattab (may Allah be pleased with him) came and wept. He (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "What makes you weep?" He said: O Messenger of Allah, Chosroes and Caesar sit on beds of gold and wear silk and brocade. He (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Are you not pleased that this world is for them and the Hereafter is for you?"
