حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ عَمْرِو بْنِ خَالِدٍ الْحَرَّانِيُّ، حَدَّثَنِي أَبِي، ثنا زُهَيْرٌ، عَنِ الْأَسْوَدِ بْنِ قَيْسٍ، حَدَّثَنِي جُنْدُبُ بْنُ سُفْيَانَ، قَالَ: شَهِدْتُ الْأَضْحَى مَعَ رَسُولِ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ فَلَمْ يُعِدْ أَنْ صَلَّى وَفَرَغَ مِنْ صَلَاتِهِ إِذَا هُوَ يَرَى لَحْمَ أَضْحًى قَدْ ذُبِحَتْ قَبْلَ أَنْ يَفْرُغَ مِنْ صَلَاتِهِ، فَقَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ: «مَنْ كَانَ ذَبَحَ أُضْحِيَّتَهُ قَبْلَ أَنْ يُصَلِّيَ فَلْيَذْبَحْ مَكَانَهَا، وَمَنْ لَمْ يَذْبَحْ فَلْيَذْبَحْ بِاسْمِ اللهِ»
Sayyiduna Jundub bin Sufyan (may Allah be pleased with him) said: I attended the prayer of Eid al-Adha with the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him). He led the prayer, and as soon as he finished the prayer he saw that sacrificial meat had already been slaughtered before he had finished his prayer. So the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Whoever slaughtered his sacrifice before the prayer, let him slaughter again in its place; and whoever has not slaughtered, let him slaughter with the name of Allah."
