Mu'jam Kabir Tabarani 1683 — I heard Sayyiduna Jundub say

حَدَّثَنَا عَلِيُّ بْنُ عَبْدِ الْعَزِيزِ، ثنا أَبُو نُعَيْمٍ، ثنا سُفْيَانُ، عَنْ سَلَمَةَ بْنِ كُهَيْلٍ، قَالَ: سَمِعْتُ جُنْدُبًا، يَقُولُ: قَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ: وَلَمْ أَسْمَعْ أَحَدًا يَقُولُ قَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ: غَيْرُهُ، قَالَ: فَدَنَوْتُ مِنْهُ فَسَمِعْتُهُ يَقُولُ: قَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ: «مَنْ يُسَمِّعْ يُسَمِّعِ اللهُ بِهِ، وَمَنْ يُرَائِي يُرَائِي اللهُ بِهِ»
Salamah bin Kuhayl (may Allah have mercy on him) says: I heard Sayyiduna Jundub (may Allah be pleased with him) say: The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said - and I have not heard anyone other than him say "The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said" - so I drew near to him and heard him say: The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Whoever seeks fame, Allah will make his disgrace famous, and whoever shows off, Allah will expose his showing off."
