Husayn bin Abi al-Hurr (may Allah have mercy on him) related that his father Sayyiduna Malik and his two paternal uncles Sayyiduna Qays and Sayyiduna Ubayd, the sons of al-Khashkhash, came to the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) and complained to him about a man from among their paternal cousins who was raiding people. So the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) wrote for them this document: "This is a document from Muhammad, the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him), to Malik, Ubayd and Qays, the sons of al-Khashkhash: You are secure and Muslims in respect of your lives and your wealth; you will not be held to account for the crime of anyone else, and no one but yourselves can lay the burden of a crime upon you."
