Mu'jam Kabir Tabarani 16625 — Abu Usayd al-Sa'idi lost his sight

It is narrated from Sulayman bin Yasar that Abu Usayd al-Sa'idi (may Allah be pleased with him) lost his sight before the martyrdom of Sayyiduna Uthman (may Allah be pleased with him), and he said: "Praise be to Allah who let me enjoy my sight during the lifetime of the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him); then, when Allah willed a trial (fitnah) among His servants, He withheld my sight from it."
