حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ عَبْدِ اللهِ الْحَضْرَمِيُّ، ثنا ضِرَارُ بْنُ صُرَدٍ، ثنا عَبْدُ الْعَزِيزِ بْنُ أَبِي حَازِمٍ، ثنا الْعَلَاءُ بْنُ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ، عَنْ أَبِي كَثِيرٍ، مَوْلَى مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ عَبْدِ اللهِ بْنِ جَحْشٍ، عَنْ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ عَبْدِ اللهِ بْنِ جَحْشٍ، قَالَ: كُنَّا مَعَ رَسُولِ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ بِفِنَاءِ الْمَسْجِدِ فَرَفَعَ رَأْسَهُ إِلَى السَّمَاءِ، فَقَالَ: «سُبْحَانَ اللهِ مَاذَا أُنْزِلَ مِنَ التَّشْدِيدِ؟» ، فَظَلَلْنَا بَقِيَّةَ يَوْمِنَا وَلَيْلَتِنَا، فَلَمَّا أَصْبَحْتُ غَدَوْتُ عَلَى النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ فَقُلْتُ: يَا رَسُولَ اللهِ مَاذَا أُنْزِلَ مِنَ التَّشْدِيدِ؟، قَالَ: «لَوْ أَنَّ رَجُلًا قُتِلَ فِي سَبِيلِ اللهِ ثُمَّ أُحْيِيَ ثُمَّ قُتِلَ ثم أُحْيِىَ لَمْ يَدْخُلِ الْجَنَّةَ وَعَلَيْهِ دَيْنٌ»
Sayyiduna Muhammad bin Abdullah bin Jahsh (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates: We were with the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) in the courtyard of the mosque when he (peace and blessings be upon him) raised his head towards the sky and said: "Subhan Allah (Glory be to Allah)! What severity has been sent down?" We remained in that state for the rest of our day and night. Then, when morning came, I went to the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) and said: O Messenger of Allah! What severity has been sent down? He (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "If a man were killed in the path of Allah, then brought back to life, then killed, then brought back to life, he would not enter Paradise while he has a debt upon him."
