حَدَّثَنَا إِسْحَاقُ بْنُ إِبْرَاهِيمَ، عَنْ عَبْدِ الرَّزَّاقِ، عَنْ إِبْرَاهِيمَ بْنِ مُحَمَّدٍ، عَنْ دَاوُدَ بْنِ الْحُصَيْنِ، عَنْ عِكْرِمَةَ، عَنِ ابْنِ عَبَّاسٍ، قَالَ: «أَسْلَمَتْ زَيْنَبُ بِنْتُ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ وَزَوْجُهَا أَبُو الْعَاصِ بْنُ الرَّبِيعِ مُشْرِكٌ، ثُمَّ أَسْلَمَ بَعْدَ ذَلِكَ فَأَقَرَّهُمَا النَّبِيُّ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ عَلَى نِكَاحِهِمَا»
Sayyiduna Ibn Abbas (may Allah be pleased with them both) said: Sayyidah Zaynab (may Allah be pleased with her), the daughter of the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him), accepted Islam while her husband Abu al-As bin al-Rabi' was a polytheist. Then he accepted Islam later, and the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) kept them upon their first marriage.
