كعب بن عاصم الأشعري
Kab bin Asim al-Ashari (may Allah be pleased with him)
Mu'jam Kabir Tabarani 16441 — he heard the Messenger of Allah ﷺ say
حَدَّثَنَا سُلَيْمَانُ بْنُ الْمُعَافَى بْنِ سُلَيْمَانَ، حَدَّثَنِي أَبِي، ثنا مُوسَى بْنُ أَعْيَنَ، عَنْ إِسْحَاقَ بْنِ رَاشِدٍ، عَنِ الزُّهْرِيِّ، عَنْ صَفْوَانَ بْنِ عَبْدِ اللهِ، عَنْ أُمِّ الدَّرْدَاءِ، عَنْ كَعْبِ بْنِ عَاصِمٍ، أَنَّهُ سَمِعَ رَسُولَ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ يَقُولُ: «لَيْسَ مِنَ الْبِرِّ الصِّيَامُ فِي السَّفَرِ»
It is narrated from Sayyiduna Ka'b bin Asim al-Ash'ari (may Allah be pleased with him) that he heard the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) say: "Fasting while travelling is not righteousness."
