Sayyiduna Abu al-Yasar (may Allah be pleased with him) said: A woman came to me to buy dates. I said: "There are better dates than these in the house." So she entered the house with me. I leaned towards her, pressed her and kissed her, and then I was seized with deep remorse. I came to Abu Bakr (may Allah be pleased with him) and mentioned it to him, and he said: "Conceal it about yourself and do not tell anyone." But I could not bear it, so I came to the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) and mentioned it to him, and he (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Did you betray a fighter in his absence with his family in such a way?" Until I wished that I had only accepted Islam at that very moment, and until I thought that I was one of the people of Hell. The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) kept his head lowered for a long time, then Allah sent down revelation to him: "Establish the prayer at the two ends of the day" [Surah Hud: 114] to the end of the verse. Abu al-Yasar (may Allah be pleased with him) said: I came to him (peace and blessings be upon him) and he recited it to me. His Companions said: "O Messenger of Allah! Is this for him specifically, or for people in general?" He (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Rather, it is for people in general."
