Mu'jam Kabir Tabarani 1628 — Sayyiduna Abu Dharr said: I heard

حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ عُثْمَانَ بْنِ أَبِي شَيْبَةَ، حَدَّثَنِي أَبِي قَالَ: وَجَدْتُ فِي كِتَابِ أَبِي بِخَطِّهِ، ثنا مُسْتَلِمُ بْنُ سَعِيدٍ، عَنْ مَنْصُورِ بْنِ زَاذَانَ، عَنِ الْحَسَنِ، عَنْ عَبْدِ اللهِ بْنِ الصَّامِتِ، أَنَّ أَبَا ذَرًّ، قَالَ: سَمِعْتُ رَسُولَ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ يَقُولُ: «مَنْ أُوكِيَ عَلَى ذَهَبٍ، أَوْ فِضَّةٍ، وَلَمْ يُنْفِقْهُ فِي سَبِيلِ اللهِ، كَانَ جَمْرًا يَوْمَ الْقِيَامَةِ، يُكْوَى بِهِ»
Abdullah bin al-Samit narrates that Sayyiduna Abu Dharr (may Allah be pleased with him) said: I heard the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) say: "Whoever ties up and stores gold or silver and does not spend it in the way of Allah, it will become a live coal on the Day of Resurrection with which he will be branded."
