حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو حُصَيْنٍ الْقَاضِي، ثنا يَحْيَى الْحِمَّانِيُّ، ثنا عَبْدُ اللهِ بْنُ الْمُبَارَكِ، قَالَ: قَرَأْتُ عَلَى أَبِي شُرَيْحٍ، عَنْ هِشَامِ بْنِ عُرْوَةَ، عَنِ ابْنِ كَعْبٍ، عَنْ كَعْبٍ: «أَنَّهُ رَأَى النَّبِيَّ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ يَأْكُلُ بِثَلَاثِ أَصَابِعَ، ثُمَّ رَأَيْتُهُ لَعِقَ أَصَابِعَهُ الثَّلَاثَ حِينَ أَرَادَ أَنْ يَمْسَحَهَا»
It is narrated from Sayyiduna Ka'b bin Malik (may Allah be pleased with him) that he saw the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) eating with three fingers, and then saw that when he (peace and blessings be upon him) wanted to wipe his three fingers, he licked them.
