Mu'jam Kabir Tabarani 16222 — from Sayyiduna Ka'b bin Malik - as far

It is narrated from Sayyiduna Ka'b bin Malik (may Allah be pleased with him) - as far as the narrator thinks - as a marfu' report from the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him), concerning this verse: "It is all the same for us whether we show impatience or are patient; there is no escape for us" [Surah Ibrahim: 21]. He (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "The people of Hell will say: Come, let us be patient. So they will be patient for five hundred years. When they see that it has been of no benefit, they will say: Come, let us show impatience. So they will weep for five hundred years. When they see that this too has been of no benefit, they will say: It is all the same for us whether we show impatience or are patient; there is no escape for us."
