Mu'jam Kabir Tabarani 16214 — the Messenger of Allah ﷺ said: O Banu

It is narrated from Abdur Rahman bin Ka'b bin Malik (may Allah have mercy on him) that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "O Banu Salamah! Who is your chief?" They said: Our chief is al-Jadd bin Qays. The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Why do you make him your chief?" They said: Because he is the wealthiest of us, though we also accuse him of miserliness. The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "What disease is worse than miserliness? He is not your chief." They said: Then who is our chief, O Messenger of Allah? He (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Your chief is Bishr bin al-Bara' bin Ma'rur."
