Mu'jam Kabir Tabarani 1619 — Sayyiduna Abu Dharr said: The prayer

حَدَّثَنَا إِسْحَاقُ بْنُ إِبْرَاهِيمَ الدَّبَرِيُّ، أَنَا عَبْدُ الرَّزَّاقِ، أَنَا مَعْمَرٌ، عَنْ عَلِيِّ بْنِ زَيْدِ بْنِ جُدْعَانَ، عَنْ عَبْدِ اللهِ بْنِ الصَّامِتِ، عَنْ أَبِي ذَرٍّ، قَالَ: «يَقْطَعُ الصَّلَاةَ الْكَلْبُ الْأَسْوَدُ، - أَحْسِبُهُ قَالَ - وَالْمَرْأَةُ الْحَائِضُ» ، قَالَ: فَقُلْتُ لِأَبِي ذَرٍّ: مَا بَالُ الْكَلْبِ الْأَسْوَدِ؟، قَالَ: أَمَا إِنِّي قَدْ سَأَلْتُ رَسُولَ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ، عَنْ ذَلِكَ، فَقَالَ: «إِنَّهُ شَيْطَانٌ»
Abdullah bin al-Samit narrates: Sayyiduna Abu Dharr (may Allah be pleased with him) said: "The prayer is broken by a black dog (I think he said) and by a menstruating woman." I asked Abu Dharr (may Allah be pleased with him): What is special about the black dog? He said: I asked the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) about that, and he (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "It is a devil."
