Mu'jam Kabir Tabarani 1614 — On the Day of Resurrection I will

حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ عَبْدِ اللهِ الْحَضْرَمِيُّ، ثنا أَبُو كُرَيْبٍ، ثنا عُثْمَانُ بْنُ سَعِيدٍ، ثنا هَيَّاجُ بْنُ بِسْطَامٍ، عَنْ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ عَمْرٍو، عَنْ عِرَاكِ بْنِ مَالِكٍ، عَنْ أَبِي ذَرٍّ، قَالَ: «إِنِّي لَأَقْرَبُكُمْ مِنْ رَسُولِ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ، يَوْمَ الْقِيَامَةِ، خَرَجَ مِنَ الدُّنْيَا كَهَيْئَةِ مَا أَتْرُكُهُ فِيهَا، وَإِنِّي وَاللهِ، مَا أَحْدَثْتُ بَعْدَهُ شَيْئًا، وَمَا مِنْكُمْ مِنْ أَحَدٍ إِلَّا وَقَدْ تَشَبَّثَ مِنْهَا بِشَيْءٍ»
Sayyiduna Abu Dharr (may Allah be pleased with him) said: "On the Day of Resurrection I will be the closest of you to the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him). He (peace and blessings be upon him) departed from this world in the same state that I am in as well; and by Allah, I have not introduced anything new (into the religion) after him (peace and blessings be upon him); and there is not one of you except that he has clung to something of this world."
