Sayyiduna Fayruz al-Daylami (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "There will be a sound in Ramadan." The Companions said: O Messenger of Allah, at its beginning, in its middle or at its end? He (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "No, rather in the middle of Ramadan. When the night of the fifteenth is the night of Friday, a sound will come from the sky by which seventy thousand will fall unconscious, seventy thousand will become dumb, seventy thousand will become blind, and seventy thousand will become deaf." The Companions said: O Messenger of Allah, then who of your Ummah will be safe? He (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Whoever stays in his house, takes refuge in prostration, and proclaims the takbir of Allah aloud. Then another sound will follow it. The first sound will be the sound of Jibril and the second the sound of Satan. The sound will be in Ramadan, the tumult in Shawwal, the tribes will separate in Dhu al-Qa'dah, and the pilgrims will be raided in Dhu al-Hijjah and in Muharram. And what is Muharram? Its beginning is a trial for my Ummah and its end is joy for my Ummah. In that time, a mount with its saddle on which a believer escapes will be (better) for him than an estate yielding an income of one hundred thousand."
