حَدَّثَنَا أَحْمَدُ بْنُ يَحْيَى الْحُلْوَانِيُّ، ثنا سَعِيدُ بْنُ سُلَيْمَانَ، عَنْ عَبَّادِ بْنِ الْعَوَّامِ، عَنْ سُفْيَانَ بْنِ حُسَيْنٍ، عَنْ خَالِدِ بْنِ شَرِيكٍ، عَنِ الْعِرْبَاضِ بْنِ سَارِيَةَ قَالَ: قَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ: «إِنَّ الرَّجُلَ إِذَا سَقَى امْرَأَتَهُ الْمَاءَ أُجِرَ» ، قَالَ: «فَقُمْتُ إِلَيْهَا فَسَقَيْتُهَا مِنَ الْمَاءِ وَأَخْبَرْتُهَا بِمَا سَمِعْتُ مِنْ رَسُولِ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ»
Sayyiduna al-Irbad bin Sariyah (may Allah be pleased with him) related that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "When a man gives his wife water to drink, he is rewarded." Sayyiduna al-Irbad (may Allah be pleased with him) said: I got up, went to my wife and gave her water to drink, and told her what I had heard from the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him).
