حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدَانُ بْنُ أَحْمَدَ، ثنا سُلَيْمَانُ بْنُ عَبْدِ الْجَبَّارِ، ثنا ثَابِتُ بْنُ مُحَمَّدٍ، ثنا أَبُو بَكْرِ بْنُ عَيَّاشٍ، عَنِ الشَّيْبَانِيِّ، عَنْ حَبِيبِ بْنِ أَبِي ثَابِتٍ، عَنْ نَافِعِ بْنِ جُبَيْرٍ، عَنْ أَبِيهِ، قَالَ: قَسَّمَ رَسُولُ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ، قَسْمًا فِي نَفَرٍ مِنَ النَّاسِ، وَتَبِعَهُ النَّاسُ فَمَرَّ بِشَجَرَةٍ، فَأَخَذَتْ بِثِيَابِهِ، فَقَالَ: «رُدُّوا عَلَيَّ ثِيَابِي، أَتَخَافُونَ عَلَيَّ، فَوَاللهِ لَوْ كَانَ لِي مَالٌ لَقَسَّمْتُهُ»
Nafi' bin Jubayr (may Allah have mercy on him) narrates from his father, Sayyiduna Jubayr bin Mut'im (may Allah be pleased with him), who said: the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) made a distribution among some people, and the people were following him. He (peace and blessings be upon him) passed by a tree and it caught hold of his clothes. He (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Give me back my clothes. Do you fear (stinginess) from me? By Allah, if I had wealth, I would distribute it."
