حَدَّثَنَا مُوسَى بْنُ هَارُونَ، وَزَكَرِيَّا بْنُ يَحْيَى السَّاجِيُّ، وَعَبْدَانُ بْنُ أَحْمَدَ قَالُوا: أنا هُدْبَةُ بْنُ خَالِدٍ، ثنا أَبَانُ بْنُ يَزِيدَ، حَدَّثَنِي يَحْيَى بْنُ أَبِي كَثِيرٍ، أَنَّ أَبَا قِلَابَةَ، حَدَّثَهُ، عَنْ أَبِي الْمُهَلَّبِ، عَنْ عِمْرَانَ بْنِ حُصَيْنٍ، أَنَّ امْرَأَةً أَتَتِ النَّبِيَّ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ فَقَالَتْ: إِنِّي أَصَبْتُ حَدًّا فَأَقِمْهُ عَلِيَّ وَهِيَ حَامِلٌ، فَأَمَرَ وَلِيَّهَا أَنْ يُحْسِنَ إِلَيْهَا حَتَّى تَضَعَ، فَلَمَّا وَضَعَتْ، أَمَرَ بِثِيَابِهَا، فَشُكَّتَ عَلَيْهَا، ثُمَّ رَجَمَهَا، وَصَلَّى عَلَيْهَا، فَقَالَ عُمَرُ: يَا نَبِيَّ اللهِ، أَتُصَلِّي عَلَيْهَا وَقَدْ زَنَتْ؟ فَقَالَ: «وَالَّذِي نَفْسُ مُحَمَّدٍ بِيَدِهِ لَقَدْ تَابَتْ تَوْبَةً لَوْ قُسِمَتْ عَلَى سَبْعِينَ مِنْ أَهْلِ الْمَدِينَةِ لَوَسِعَتْهُمْ، وَهَلْ وَجَدْتَ أَفْضَلَ مِنْ أَنْ جَادَتْ بِنَفْسِهَا لِلَّهِ عَزَّ وَجَلَّ»
It is narrated from Sayyiduna Imran bin Husayn (may Allah be pleased with him) that a woman came to the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) and said: "I have committed an offence that carries a prescribed punishment (hadd), so carry it out on me," while she was pregnant. He (peace and blessings be upon him) ordered her guardian to look after her well until she gave birth. When she had given birth, he (peace and blessings be upon him) gave orders regarding her clothes, and they were tied around her; then he had her stoned, and he offered the (funeral) prayer over her. Sayyiduna Umar (may Allah be pleased with him) said: "O Prophet of Allah, do you pray over her when she committed fornication?" He (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "By the One in whose Hand is the soul of Muhammad, she has repented with such a repentance that, if it were divided among seventy people of Madinah, it would suffice them all. And have you found anything better than that she gave up her life for Allah, the Mighty and Majestic?"
