Mu'jam Kabir Tabarani 155 — when Ali married Fatimah, she said

حَدَّثَنَا إِسْحَاقُ بْنُ إِبْرَاهِيمَ الدَّبَرِيُّ، عَنْ عَبْدِ الرَّزَّاقِ، عَنْ وَكِيعِ بْنِ الْجَرَّاحِ، قَالَ: أَخْبَرَنِي شَرِيكٌ، عَنْ أَبِي إِسْحَاقَ، أَنَّ عَلِيًّا رَضِيَ اللهُ عَنْهُ لَمَّا تَزَوَّجَ فَاطِمَةَ رَضِيَ اللهُ عَنْهَا، قَالَتْ لِلنَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ: زَوَّجْتَنِيهِ أُعَيْمِشَ عَظِيمَ الْبَطْنِ، فَقَالَ النَّبِيُّ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ: «لَقَدْ زَوَّجْتُكِهِ وَإِنَّهُ لَأَوَّلُ أَصْحَابِي سِلْمًا، وَأَكْثَرُهُمْ عِلْمًا، وَأَعْظَمُهُمْ حِلْمًا»
It is narrated from Abu Ishaq (may Allah have mercy on him) that when Ali (may Allah be pleased with him) married Fatimah (may Allah be pleased with her), she said to the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him): "You have married me to a man with weak eyesight and a large belly." So the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "I have married you to the one who was the first of my Companions to accept Islam, the most knowledgeable of them, and the most forbearing of them."
