حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ اللهِ بْنُ أَحْمَدَ بْنِ حَنْبَلٍ، حَدَّثَنِي عُبَيْدُ اللهِ بْنُ عُمَرَ الْقَوَارِيرِيُّ، ثنا يُوسُفُ بْنُ خَالِدٍ السَّمْتِيُّ، عَنْ سَلْمِ بْنِ بَشِيرٍ، عَنِ الْحَسَنِ، عَنْ عِمْرَانَ بْنِ حُصَيْنٍ قَالَ: قَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ: «مَقَامُ رَجُلٍ فِي صَفٍّ فِي سَبِيلِ اللهِ خَيْرٌ مِنَ الدُّنْيَا وَمَا فِيهَا، وَمَنْ رَمَى بِسَهْمٍ فِي سَبِيلِ اللهِ فَبَلَغَ أَخْطَأَ أَوْ أَصَابَ فَبِعِتْقِ رَقَبَةٍ، وَمَنْ شَابَ شَيْبَةً فِي سَبِيلِ اللهِ كَانَتْ لَهُ نُورًا يَوْمَ الْقِيَامَةِ»
It is narrated from Sayyiduna Imran bin Husayn (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "A man's standing in the rank in the path of Allah is better than the world and everything in it. Whoever shoots an arrow in the path of Allah and it reaches (the enemy), whether it misses or hits the mark, his reward is equal to freeing a slave. And whoever's hair turns grey in the path of Allah, it will be a light for him on the Day of Resurrection."
