حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ اللهِ بْنُ أَحْمَدَ بْنِ حَنْبَلٍ، ثنا هُدْبَةُ بْنُ خَالِدٍ، ثنا حَمَّادُ بْنُ سَلَمَةَ، عَنْ ثَابِتٍ، عَنِ الْحَسَنِ، عَنْ عِمْرَانَ بْنِ حُصَيْنٍ قَالَ: نَزَلَتْ هَذِهِ الْآيَةُ: {يَا أَيُّهَا النَّاسُ اتَّقُوا رَبُّكُمْ إِنَّ زَلْزَلَةَ السَّاعَةِ شَيْءٌ عَظِيمٌ} [الحج: ١] وَنَحْنُ مَعَ رَسُولِ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ فِي سَفَرٍ وَقَدْ نَعَسَ بَعْضُ الْقَوْمِ، وَتَفَرَّقَ بَعْضُهُمْ، فَرَفَعَ بِهَا رَسُولُ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ صَوْتَهُ، فَاجْتَمَعُوا إِلَى النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ وَقَالُوا: إِنَّ السَّاعَةَ قَدْ قَامَتْ، فَقَرَأَهَا رَسُولُ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ وَقَالَ: «أَتَدْرُونَ أَيُّ يَوْمٍ ذَلِكُمْ؟» قَالُوا: اللهُ وَرَسُولُهُ أَعْلَمُ قَالَ: " ذَلِكَ حِينَ اللهُ عَزَّ وَجَلَّ يَقُولُ لِآدَمَ: قُمْ يَا آدَمُ فَابْعَثْ بَعْثَ النَّارِ قَالَ: يَقُولُ: وَمَا بَعْثُ النَّارِ؟ قَالَ: ابْعَثْ مِنْ كُلِّ أَلْفٍ تِسْعَمِائةٍ وَتِسْعَةً وَتِسْعِينَ إِلَى النَّارِ، وَوَاحِدًا إِلَى الْجَنَّةِ "، فَأَبْلَسَ الْقَوْمُ فَمَا مِنْهُمْ أَحَدٌ يُبْدِي عَنْ وَاضِحَةٍ فَقَالَ: «اعْمَلُوا وَأَبْشِرُوا، فَمَا أَنْتُمْ فِي النَّاسِ إِلَّا كَالشَّامَةِ فِي ظَهْرِ الْبَعِيرِ أَوْ كَالرَّقْمَةِ فِي ذِرَاعِ الدَّابَّةِ» ، ثُمَّ قَالَ: «اعْلَمُوا أَنَّكُمْ مَعَ خَلِيقَتَيْنِ لَمْ يَكُونُوا فِي شَيْءٍ إِلَّا كَثَّرَتَاهُ، يَأْجُوجُ وَمَأْجُوجُ مَعَ مَنْ هَلَكَ مِنْ وَلَدِ إِبْلِيسَ»
Sayyiduna Imran bin Husayn (may Allah be pleased with him) said: This verse was revealed: "O people, fear your Lord; indeed the quaking of the Hour is a tremendous thing" [Al-Hajj: 1], while we were with the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) on a journey, and some of the people were dozing and some had scattered. The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) recited this verse in a loud voice, so the people gathered around the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) and said: The Hour has come. The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) recited the verse and said: "Do you know what day that is?" The Companions said: Allah and His Messenger know best. He said: "That is the time when Allah, the Mighty and Majestic, will say to Adam (peace be upon him): 'O Adam, stand and send forth the party of the Fire.' He will say: 'What is the party of the Fire?' He will say: 'From every thousand, nine hundred and ninety-nine to the Fire and one to Paradise.'" Hearing this, the people were struck dumb, until not one of them could show any cheerfulness. Then he (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Keep doing good deeds and rejoice, for you among the people are only like a mole on the back of a camel, or a mark on the foreleg of an animal." Then he said: "Know that you are with two creations which, whatever they were among, they made it numerous: Ya'juj and Ma'juj, along with those of the offspring of Iblis who have perished."
