Reports narrated by al-Ala bin al-Hadrami (may Allah be pleased with him)
Mu'jam Kabir Tabarani 15265 — The Prophet ﷺ sent me, and he wrote
حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ اللهِ بْنُ نَاجِيَةَ، ثنا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ عَبْدِ الرَّحِيمِ أَبُو يَحْيَى صَاعِقَةٌ، ثنا عَتَّابُ بْنُ زِيَادٍ، ثنا أَبُو حَمْزَةَ، عَنِ الْمُغِيرَةِ الْأَزْدِيِّ، عَنْ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ زَيْدٍ، عَنْ حَيَّانَ الْأَعْرَجِ، عَنِ الْعَلَاءِ الْحَضْرَمِيِّ قَالَ: بَعَثَنِي النَّبِيُّ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ، وَكَتَبَ فِي الْخَلِيطَيْنِ أَحَدُهُمَا مُسْلِمٌ، وَالْآخَرُ مُشْرِكٌ: «أَنْ خُذْ مِنَ الْمُسْلِمِ الْعُشْرَ، وَمِنَ الْمُشْرِكِ الْجِزْيَةَ»
Sayyiduna al-Ala' al-Hadrami (may Allah be pleased with him) said: The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) sent me, and he wrote concerning two partners with mixed property, one of whom was a Muslim and the other a polytheist: "Take the tithe ('ushr) from the Muslim, and take the jizyah from the polytheist."
