حَدَّثَنَا سَهْلُ بْنُ مُوسَى شِيرَانُ الرَّامَهُرْمُزِيُّ، ثنا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ عَبْدِ الْأَعْلَى الصَّنْعَانِيُّ، ثنا مُعْتَمِرُ بْنُ سُلَيْمَانَ، عَنْ أَبِيهِ، حَدَّثَنِي شَيْخٌ، عَنْ عَائِذِ بْنِ عَمْرٍو، «أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ أَتَى بِقَدَحٍ أَوْ بِعُسٍّ وَفِي الْمَاءِ قِلَّةٌ فَتَوَضَّأَ بِهِ ثُمَّ أَمَرَ بِهِ فَرَشَّ عَلَيْهِمْ» - أَوْ قَالَ: نَضَحَ عَلَيْهِمْ - قَالَ: وَالسَّعِيدُ فِي أَنْفُسِنَا مَنْ أَصَابَهُ قَالَ: وَأُرَاهُ قَدْ أَصَابَهُمْ كُلُّهُمْ، ثُمَّ قَامَ رَسُولُ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ فَصَلَّى بِهِمْ صَلَاةَ الضُّحَى "
It is narrated from Sayyiduna A'idh bin Amr (may Allah be pleased with him) that a cup or a large vessel was brought to the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) with only a little water in it. He (peace and blessings be upon him) performed ablution with it, then gave an order and it was sprinkled over the people - or he said: it was splashed over them. The narrator says: In our view, the fortunate one was he whom this water touched. He says: I think it touched all of them. Then the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) stood up and led them in the Duha (forenoon) prayer.
