Sayyiduna A'idh bin Amr (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates that Abu Sufyan passed by Sayyiduna Salman, Sayyiduna Suhayb and Sayyiduna Bilal (may Allah be pleased with them), and they said: The swords of Allah have not yet taken their due from the neck of this man. Sayyiduna Abu Bakr (may Allah be pleased with him) said: Do you say this to the elder and chief of Quraysh? Then he came to the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) and told him (peace and blessings be upon him) what they had said, and the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "O Abu Bakr, perhaps you have angered them. By the One in whose Hand is my soul, if you have angered them, then you have angered your Lord." So he went back to them and said: My brothers, have I angered you? They said: No, O Abu Bakr, may Allah forgive you.
Sayyiduna A'idh bin Amr (may Allah be pleased with him) says that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) forbade hantam (green earthenware jars), dubba' (gourd vessels), naqir (vessels of hollowed-out trunks) and muzaffat (pitch-coated vessels, in which nabidh was made). A similar hadith is also narrated from Sayyiduna A'idh bin Amr (may Allah be pleased with him) from the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him).
