حَدَّثَنَا مُطَّلِبُ بْنُ شُعَيْبٍ الْأَزْدِيُّ، ثَنَا عَبْدُ اللهِ بْنُ صَالِحٍ، حَدَّثَنِي اللَّيْثُ، حَدَّثَنِي مُوسَى بْنُ أَيُّوبَ الْغَافِقِيُّ مِنْ أَهْلِ مِصْرَ، عَنْ رَجُلٍ مِنْ قَوْمِهِ قَدْ سَمَّاهُ، عَنْ عُقْبَةَ بْنِ عَامِرٍ قَالَ: لَمَّا نَزَلَتْ هَذِهِ الْآيَةُ {فَسَبِّحْ بِاسْمِ رَبِّكَ الْعَظِيمِ} [الواقعة: ٧٤] قَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ: «اجْعَلُوهَا فِي رُكُوعِكُمْ» وَلَمَّا نَزَلَتْ سَبِّحِ اسْمَ رَبِّكَ الْأَعْلَى قَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ: «اجْعَلُوهَا فِي سُجُودِكُمْ» وَكَانَ رَسُولُ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ إِذَا رَكَعَ قَالَ: «سُبْحَانَ رَبِّيَ الْعَظِيمِ» ثَلَاثَ مَرَّاتٍ، وَإِذَا سَجَدَ قَالَ: «سُبْحَانَ رَبِّيَ الْأَعْلَى» ثَلَاثَ مَرَّاتٍ
Sayyiduna Uqbah bin Amir (may Allah be pleased with him) said: When this verse was revealed: "So glorify the name of your Lord, the Most Great" [Surah al-Waqi'ah: 74], the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Recite it in your bowing." And when "Glorify the name of your Lord, the Most High" [Surah al-A'la: 1] was revealed, the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Recite it in your prostrations." And whenever the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) bowed, he would say three times: "Glory be to my Lord, the Most Great," and whenever he prostrated, he would say three times: "Glory be to my Lord, the Most High."
