حَدَّثَنَا عَلِيُّ بْنُ عَبْدِ الْعَزِيزِ، ثَنَا مُسْلِمُ بْنُ إِبْرَاهِيمَ، ثَنَا عَبْدُ الْعَزِيزِ بْنُ مُسْلِمٍ، عَنْ يَزِيدَ بْنِ أَبِي مَنْصُورٍ، عَنْ دُخَيْنٍ الْحَجْرِيِّ، عَنْ عُقْبَةَ بْنِ عَامِرٍ، أَنَّ عَشَرَةً أَتَوُا النَّبِيَّ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ يُبَايِعُونَ فَبَايَعَ تِسْعَةً وَأَمْسَكَ عَنْ وَاحِدٍ قَالُوا: يَا رَسُولَ اللهِ، بَايَعْتَ تِسْعَةً وَأَمْسَكْتَ عَنْ هَذَا؟ قَالَ: «إِنَّ هَذَا عَلَيْهِ تَمِيمَةٌ» فَأَدْخَلَ يَدَهُ فَقَطَعَهَا فَبَايَعَهُ
It is narrated from Sayyiduna Uqbah bin Amir (may Allah be pleased with him) that ten men came to the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) to give the pledge of allegiance. He (peace and blessings be upon him) took the pledge from nine and held back from one. The people said: "O Messenger of Allah! You took the pledge from nine and held back from this one?" He (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "This man is wearing an amulet." Then that man put in his hand and cut it off, and he (peace and blessings be upon him) took the pledge from him as well.
